Strategy

Our strategy was simple: redefine the image of barbecue culture. We aimed to strip away the clichés and bring in a breath of fresh air—quite literally. We drew inspiration from the great outdoors, where everyone can gather around the grill without feeling like they need a beard or a biker jacket. By focusing on the joy of outdoor cooking and the laid-back lifestyle of national parks, we crafted a brand that feels welcoming to all, from seasoned pitmasters to first-time grillers.

Approach

To bring this vision to life, we overhauled BBQ-Valley’s branding and messaging from top to bottom. We introduced a vibrant color palette inspired by national park landscapes—think deep greens, sunset oranges, and sky blues. We also crafted a playful, inclusive tone of voice that speaks to the joys of outdoor cooking without any of the rough-and-tumble attitude. Social media campaigns highlighted diverse grilling styles, from vegan barbecues to sweet, smoky desserts, ensuring that everyone felt welcome.

Result

The results were as satisfying as a perfectly smoked brisket. BBQ Valley opened successfully with a diverse customer base ranging from young families to seasoned barbecue enthusiasts. Social media engagement soared, with posts featuring our inclusive messaging and diverse recipes. Best of all, BBQ Valley became known as the go-to spot for anyone who loves the idea of cooking outdoors, without any of the old-school barbecue stereotypes.
