adidas Originals and Calico Club / joined forces to answer a simple question: who inspires you, but rarely gets seen? Together with Faberyayo (Pepijn Lanen) and his partner Coco, we created an influencer campaign where the adidas Superstar features quietly, always present, never the lead. Instead of pushing product, we told a story that resonates with Faberyayo’s audience: personal, honest and human. A true fit for the Originals mindset.
Approach
We flipped the script. Instead of celebrities, Faberyayo chose his own 'originals': a teacher, a barista, his grandma. Real people doing good things in their own way. Periscoop developed the concept and brought it to life in a series of intimate, slow-paced videos. Shot with care and edited with feeling by production partner KARAT.
Result
A quiet series that stands out by holding back. Each video feels like a window into Faberyayo’s world: casual, warm, authentic. His followers saw it as an extension of him, not an ad. And the Superstar? It’s there, naturally. A character in the background, connecting it all. Subtle product presence, strong brand feel.
